While in Michigan, CSC Correspondent Rick Weaver covered the Downriver Dream Cruise, one of the largest held every year in the Metro-Detroit area. It was a fourteen hour event that took place on Fort Street (a six lane boulevard) starting in Lincoln Park, and concluded at the Southgate-Riverview boarder some five miles away. We saw a bunch of Turbo Regals and plenty of Gbody cars (our normal requirement [wishful thinkings] when attending car shows). It doesn’t happen too often that we can publish a post that ONLY has our top 4 categories of vehicles in it (hence us having to put whatever is neat at the specific venue we are at in the car show posts we make).

Hundreds of machines on wheels ranging from off road trucks to motorcycles attended the event. Despite threats of all day rains preceded by flooding the night before the turnout was still large, and a good time was had by all. This was one of those special events. There’s sooo many muscle cars, hot rods, and classics at this gathering, we’re able to fill our quota of our personal favorites.

Many cars and crowds will also gather the evening before for an unofficial kickoff. An official event for most of its history, each event held since 2017 has been unofficial as a result of increasing expenses incurred and lack of profits by each of the communities along the cruise route. The 2017 and 2018 events had another factor, in the form of increased traffic along Fort Street due to a prolonged partial closure of Interstate 75, which parallels Fort Street in the Downriver area, during those two years. Although I-75 had since fully reopened by the time of the 2019 edition, the event remains unofficial, and this status has allowed the 2020 edition to continue to move forward in spite of the COVID-19 pandemic. People lined the streets all along the way to watch and cheer for their friends and favorite vehicles.

Norwegian Encore and Norwegian Bliss are also our top picks for ships operating the best Alaska cruises from Seattle for solo travelers. Between these two, it's a tossup, though we put Norwegian Bliss in the headline above since, well, we already gave Norwegian Encore a turn in the limelight with the best-for-luxury category. Yes, the 3,998-passenger Norwegian Encore is a cruise ship that generally caters to the masses, not the luxury crowd. However, it has its own "ship-within-a-ship" luxury zone that offers a much more swanky experience for those willing to pay. The parents of an 18-year-old high school graduate who fell overboard on a sunset cruise in the Bahamas have broken their silence. A 15-year-old boy died by suicide after jumping from the balcony of a cruise ship onto one of the decks below during a voyage returning from a 5-night trip to the Caribbean and Bahamas. The US Coast Guard and local Bahaman authorities spent days looking for Robbins before calling off their search last week after scouring more than 325 square miles of ocean. As Louisiana high-school grad Cameron Robbins vanished beneath shark-infested waters after jumping from a boat in the Bahamas, someone yelled, “Bye, bye! Footage has surfaced showing 18-year-old Cameron Robbins -- who'd just graduated high school in Baton Rouge -- swimming in the open seas at night near Athol Island last week ...
US teen missing after going overboard on sunset cruise in the Bahamas
An 18-year-old boy from Louisiana was celebrating his recent high school graduation during a sunset cruise in the Bahamas Wednesday when he reportedly jumped overboard on a dare, triggering a large-scale search. The small, pirate-lookalike cruise ship was anchored throughout the night, and the students were stuck at sea near the uninhabited island in what Royal Bahamas Defense Force Commodore Raymond King called "shark-infested waters." "We offer our sincerest condolences to Cameron Robbins’ family and friends," the U.S. The teen fell off the Blackbeard's Revenge sunset cruise ship, the Coast Guard said. The Louisiana high school graduate who disappeared after leaping off a cruise ship into dark waters off the Bahamas last week may have met a grisly fate in the “shark-infested” area, a local official said.
... Search Called Off
A video has surfaced showing boat passengers in the Bahamas moments after an 18-year-old Louisiana star baseball player jumped off the ship in response to a dare, resulting in a fatal outcome. Search and rescue crews searched more than 325 square miles looking for Robbins. “Words fall short of expressing the worry our entire school community is feeling. Extra counselors will be available on campus to speak with students and faculty who are struggling to process this news. Our thoughts are with the Robbins family, and we ask that you keep them in your thoughts as well,” Mr George wrote. Cameron Robbins went on a trip to the Bahamas to celebrate his graduation from the University Laboratory School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Chilling last words shouted to Cameron Robbins revealed in haunting video
“I have been in touch with Cameron’s family and at this time, authorities are still searching for him in the Bahamas,” George wrote. As CrimeOnline previously reported, Cameron Robbins, who had just graduated from University Laboratory School (U-High), jumped off the boat as a dare on May 24. A video obtained by DailyMail showed Robbins splashing in the water near the boat before he vanished. The Coast Guard assisted the Royal Bahamas Defence Force in search efforts by deploying aircrews. In a statement provided to The Independent, Jonathan Chia, a representative for Pirates’ Revenge Ltd, the parent company of Blackbeard’s Revenge, said Cameron went overboard at approximately 9.40pm local time in Montagu Bay off Athol Island in the Bahamas. The University Lab School Director Kevin George told WAFB that Cameron had attended the school for 13 years.
"Our Coast Guard command center and aircrews based in Miami supported RBDF search and rescue efforts since the initial report Wednesday evening, and continued through Friday evening." A chaotic video taken moments after the jump also shows the recent graduate ignoring onlookers’ pleas to grab a buoy. “We offer our sincerest condolences to Cameron Robbins’ family and friends,” said Lt. Cmdr. Matthew Spado, Coast Guard liaison officer to the Bahamas. Since he went missing, a multi-day search was undertaken by both Bahamian authorities and the U.S. Coast Guard -- but Robbins was never found, and the search has now been called off after several unsuccessful days of scouring the area for any sign of him.

That is until he vanished behind the boat and out of view of everyone, who began screaming at him to grab a life preserver that'd been thrown to him -- which was pretty far away, and he didn't end up reaching it. Sunday's memorial service will begin at 4 p.m., with visitation hours between 2 and 4 p.m. He has "been here throughout his entire educational career. He's an athlete, great kid, great smile, great head of hair. Just one of the kids you're so proud of when they cross the stage," George said. "None of the experts consulted can definitely say what's in the video due to the quality and length of the video," Trascher said. "The Robbins family has requested that we not entertain that theory any longer, so our official position is that we don't know what happened while Cam was in the water."
However, the cellphone footage is too dark and chaotic to definitively show what happened, and the theory is no longer officially being investigated at the request of Robbins' family, Brian Trascher, spokesperson for the United Cajun Navy, told Fox News Digital on Friday. George described Robbins as a "great kid" and athlete who had been with the school for 13 years, since the start of his education.
Haunting image surfaces after Cameron Robbins jumped off ship into ‘shark-infested’ water
The Coast Guard called off its own search two days later, after reportedly scouring over 325 square miles. The waters off Athol Island, where 18-year-old Cameron Robbins was last seen swimming after jumping off the Blackbeard’s Revenge sunset cruise on May 24, are “really shark-infested,” Royal Bahamas Defense Force (RBDF) Commodore Raymond King told the Daily Mail on Tuesday. The U.S. Coast Guard said Thursday that it was assisting with search efforts for a missing U.S. citizen "believed to have fallen overboard from a sunset cruise near Nassau" on Wednesday. A Coast Guard spokesperson confirmed to ABC News that the search was for Robbins. According to a witness, crews made multiple unsuccessful attempts to locate Robbins as the boat, resembling a pirate ship, stayed in the area for several hours. The U.S. Coast Guard has ended their search for a Louisiana teenager who went overboard during a sunset cruise in the Bahamas on Wednesday night.

He was staying at Atlantis Paradise Island with a group of fellow seniors from other area high schools. Robbins disappeared three days after his graduation from University Laboratory School. Robbins was last seen splashing in the dark, “shark-infested” waters a few feet from the boat, before vanishing from view. “He initially goes for the buoy but then turns around when he sees the shark, ultimately disappearing into the water, likely dragged down. Royal Bahamas Defense Force Commodore Raymond King has told the Daily Mail the the water in that area are “really shark-infested,” which has fueled the shark-attack theory.
The Baton Rouge 18-year-old was enjoying a sunset cruise with several hundred fellow graduates May 24 when he leaped overboard from a vessel designed to look like a pirate ship — apparently on a dare. The video, which has so far been viewed more than 10 million times on Twitter, is being scrutinized, with some indicating the video allegedly shows the exact moment Robbins is pulled underneath the water by a shark after jumping off a cruise ship near Nassau, Bahamas. The U.S. Coast Guard has ended their search for a Louisiana teenager who fell overboard from a sunset cruise in the Bahamas on Wednesday night. The Coast Guard called off its own search two days later, after reportedly scouring over 325 square miles.
The viral cellphone video of Robbins in the water, which was seen over 10 million times, went through virtually every type of edit on social media after a speculation-fueled narrative that Robbins encountered a shark gripped people's curiosities. Cameron Robbins, a Louisiana resident, was celebrating his high school graduation when he was reportedly dared to jump overboard on a cruise. The 18-year-old "reportedly jumped from a pleasure vessel," the Royal Bahamas Police Force said in a statement. While not confirmed by the United States Coast Guard press release, Royal Bahamas Defence Force Commodore Raymond King spoke to the media during the days of the search about the possibility of a shark attack. People on the cruise ship begin to shout and call for the man to go to the lifesaver, only for someone to remark that the man is no longer visible. In the video, other guests upon the cruise ship can be heard swearing and eventually panicking as the footage allegedly shows Robbins getting pulled underneath the water.
"The Bahamas government has called off the rescue for Cameron and we are returning to Baton Rouge," the family said in a statement. "We offer our sincerest condolences to Cameron Robbins’ family and friends," Spado added. The ship was near Athol Island an uninhabited island located northeast of Nassau, according to WBRZ. Videos show Robbins jumping from the boat and swimming with a life preserver nearby.
According to witnesses, the teen — who was apparently acting on a dare — took a plunge off a party cruise into the ocean near Athol Island at night. A few hours after checking in, Robbins and the other newly minted high-school grads boarded the Pirate’s Revenge boat for an evening pleasure cruise near the uninhabited Athol Island, located north of Nassau. The footage captures horrified onlookers on the ship frantically yelling at Robbins to “grab the buoy,” but the teen appears to swim in the opposite direction — possibly encountering a shark next to him. Experts have told Fox News Digital there is a vast array of marine life, including dolphins, tiger sharks and bull sharks in those waters that feed off the scraps from the boats. A woman whose son was friends with Robbins and on the boat at the time told Fox News Digital that several students tried to grab Robbins before he took the plunge, but he broke free.
This is the highest figure in the region, with Cuba in second with 13 and Puerto Rico in third with 11. The boat stayed in the area that night for hours after the incident as people looked for Robbins. The Royal Bahamas Police Force is investigating claims that Robbins jumped overboard as part of a dare, according to WBRZ. Robbins graduated from the University Lab High School, which operates as part of LSU, on Sunday.

The boat, designed to resemble a pirate ship, remained in the area for several hours as crew members tried to find the teen. Cameron Robbins, who graduated from University Laboratory School in Baton Rouge this past Sunday, was on a trip to the Bahamas with students from several local high schools, staying at Atlantis Paradise Island resort in Nassau, reported the station WAFB. "Your vision, judgment, everything is impaired and I can tell you that area, for the individual who reportedly jumped over, it is an area that is really shark-infested as well.
Robbins was in the Bahamas staying at the Atlantis Paradise resort in Nassau with other teenagers from Baton Rouge to mark their high school graduations, Louisiana State University confirmed Thursday. The agency announced the conclusion of its search for 18-year-old Cameron Robbins, a recent high school graduate, on Saturday after a two-day effort led by the Royal Bahamas Defence Force. "Sad to report last night on our cruise a 15-year-old fell from the 16th floor. He sadly did not make it," stated the vlogger. A few days after Robbins’ disappearance, his family travelled from Louisiana to the Bahamas to take part in the search and visit the area where he was last seen, before returning home Sunday. Robbins, a standout baseball player, graduated from University Laboratory High School in Baton Rouge on May 21.
